As a group we built human forms, using brown parcel paper and masking tape. It felt good to collaborate.<\/span><\/div>\n

The end pieces were really effective and had an incredible sense of presence. They felt solid, inhabited and had their own distinct personalities.<\/span><\/div>\n

My group were asked to create two structures. We decided that it would be more interesting to have them relate to one another and so we designed and then posed them as if they were in dialogue.<\/span><\/div>\n

I think this is an effective and fast technique to create human figures and one that I will carry forward.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Later, I drew the figures using mixed media; I experimented with charcoal, chalks, ink, masking tape and graphite. I particularly enjoyed the charcoal; I like “leaving myself on the page” with the marks I make.<\/span><\/div>\n

I focused on capturing the texture of the paper as well as the solid quality that the sculptures all had. I think that my charcoal piece does this most effectively. <\/span><\/div>\n
